Gryphon Soccer Recreation Camp Ages 7-9 & 10-13

Gryphon Camps offer a variety of camps that are categorized into Activity Camps or Sport Camps. Soccer sits within Sport Camps umbrella.

New Minimum/Maximum Age Requirements

Each camp has a minimum and maximum age requirement to ensure campers are grouped with others within the same age range.  If you have questions or concerns about age requirements, please contact the Gryphon Camps Office at camps@uoguelph.ca or 519-824-4120 Ext. 56131.

  • Minimum Age: Campers must be no younger than the minimum age or be turning that age by the upcoming September 1st. 
  • Maximum Age: Campers must be no older than the maximum age by the end of the calendar year (December 31st).  

Our 7-9 year olds in Soccer Camp will have 3 staff with 24 campers (a ratio of 1:8)

Our 10-13 year olds in Soccer Camp will have 2 staff with 20 campers (a ratio of 1:10)

Soccer Recreation Camp | All Genders Ages 7-9 & 10-13

Gryphon Soccer Camp will focus on individual basic skills and technical development. The Recreational Soccer Camp is designed for those ages 7-13 years (divided into two age groups of 7-9 and 10-13) that want to learn the basics of soccer, have fun playing the sport, and start strengthening skills in the sport while gaining more knowledge of how to play soccer. The camp will strengthen the camper’s soccer foundation and cater to various ages and skill levels, with an emphasis on having fun. Soccer Camp will have recreational swimming twice a week. 

Soccer Camp program will aim for:

  • Players will learn the basics of soccer while having fun playing the sport
  • All activities delivered and selected for age & stage-appropriate learning
  • Each camper will strengthen their soccer foundation 

Soccer Camp (Recreational) - July 15-19/24 - Ages 10-13

Shayne Campbell Head Coach, University of Guelph Women's Soccer 

  • Head Coach (Gryphons Women's Soccer) 2017 - current
  • Assistant Coach (Gryphons Women's Soccer) 2011-16
  • Lead his team win the first OUA championship in 2017, their first in program history 
  • 2018 OUA West Coach of the Year
  • Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) National A License
  • USSF National B license
  • CSCS from the NSCA
  • During his time as a student-athlete for the Guelph Gryphons men's soccer team (1992-1994), he was team captain, earned three OUA All-Star nominations and was the recipient of the Department of Athletics' Don Cameron award in 1994.
