Meet The Coaches

Shawn Camp Head Coach, University of Guelph Men's Hockey

The 2022-22 season marked Shawn Camp's 14th season as head coach of the Gryphons Men's Hockey program.  Shawn, an Ottawa native, brings with him to the Gryphons an abundance of coaching experience at the CHL level as well as within Hockey Canada.

Shawn has brought a trio of championships to the city of Guelph as both the OHL (as head coach of the 2004 OHL Champion Guelph Storm) as well as at the OUA level (as head coach of the 2014-15 and 2019-20 Queen's Cup Champion Gryphons).  During his time with Hockey Canada, Shawn has experience both as an assistant coach and a head coach of the U-18 team, including leading Canada to a Gold medal at the 2005 World Jr. Cup.

There are currently over 50 players active in the NHL who were coached by Shawn Camp at one point during their careers, either working with Coach Camp in the CHL, within Hockey Canada, or during their time at Ottawa Senators development camp.  Coach Camp is currently in his 20th year as a Development Camp Coach for the Ottawa Senators.
