Gryphon Camps offers a variety of camps that are categorized into Activity Camps or Sport Camps. le Camp Français sits within the Activity Camps umbrella.

New Minimum/Maximum Age Requirements

Each camp has a minimum and maximum age requirement to ensure campers are grouped with others within the same age range. If you have questions or concerns about age requirements, please contact the Gryphon Camps Office at camps@uoguelph.ca or 519-824-4120 Ext. 56131.

Minimum Age: Campers must be no younger than the minimum age or be turning that age by the upcoming September 1st.
Maximum Age: Campers must be no older than the maximum age by the end of the calendar year (December 31st).

le Camp Français group will have 2 staff with 16 campers (ratio of 1:8)

le Camp Français | Ages 7-10

le Camp Français offers a unique camp experience to enhance writing and speaking in the French language combined with physical fitness. Campers will become more confident in speaking and writing in French through positive social interactions in physical activities and challenges. Activities will be explained in both French and English, and campers are encouraged to speak in French.

This is not a full French Immersion camp, but an opportunity for your child to attend camp in a French and English speaking blended environment. Campers must have taken at least one year of French at school before attending this camp.

Whimsical Wednesdays, a day with a few 'twists'
Fun Friday Finale, theme-based challenges to wrap up the week
Increase confidence in speaking & writing in French
Experience new games & challenges across the university campus
Advanced crafts that are more skill development based
Series of creative physical activities with campers of similar ages

le Camp Français will have Recreational Swimming three times a week.

le Camp Français is a unique camp experience that will enhance a child’s writing and speaking in the French language along with physical fitness. This camp offers opportunities to learn and practice French. The camp emphasizes socialization, better understanding of the language, physical fitness, increased confidence in speaking and writing in French, and positive social interactions through a variety of fun recreational activities. This is not a full French Immersion camp. Recreational swimming three times a week is offered at this camp. Theme: Shine Bright! Gryphon Vibrant Colour Tournament It’s time to brighten up the campus with our vibrant camp colours. Each camp will have specific team colours and compete in challenges, activities, games that will be part of our Gryphon Vibrant Colour Tournament. All week long we will have colours in everything we do and lots of teamwork.
