Non-Members must purchase an Athletics Base Membership prior to purchasing the NRG Pass.  Not a member yet? Purchase your Base Membership now.    Faculty/Staff/Retirees can purchase the Subsidized Base Membership here.  You are an Athletics Member if you are currently registered as a full or part-time undergraduate or a full-time graduate student of the University of Guelph (Athletics Base Membership paid within your academic fees) or if you have purchased an Athletics Base Membership.

Enforced Booking Policies

  • Prior to Aug 3/21, all time slots must be reserved in advance for the purpose of contact tracing.
  • Bookings can only be made for yourself – booking for others is NOT Permitted.
  • Max one (1) time slot per day for Outdoor NRG Classes, Indoor NRG Fitness classes, Fitness Centre.
  • No back to back bookings permitted in the same space.
  • Bookings available to reserve 7 days in advance, on the hour (means you don’t have to wake up at midnight to make your booking).
  • Time slots will be available to reserve up until 1 hour before the desired start time.
  • All members must have a booking to access our building and outdoor spaces. 
  • Clients should cancel reservations on their own and can do so without penalty up to 1 hour before the booked time.
  • Reservations can be managed through the app, your email confirmation or by calling Client Services (519 824 4120 Ext. 56253).
  • Non-members will be denied access to reserved time slots.
  • All Clients must check in when they arrive prior to any booking.
  • Clients who register for a time and continuously do not show will have their memberships temporarily suspended.

 

Outdoor Fitness Protocols

  • Everyone is required to complete the U of G COVID-19 Screening Form prior to every visit using the QR code or by visiting > uoguel.ph/COVID19screening otherwise access to the facility will be denied
  • You will be asked to show the "Green Check Mark" from your UofG confirmation email when you arrive.
  • If you experience any symptoms on the screening form or do not feel well, please stay home. 
  • All participants must exit the area as soon as the scheduled time is over in order to allow 10 minutes of cleaning after each workout block.
  • Everyone must check-in upon arrival to the Outdoor Fitness Area (located at the Main Baseball Diamond).
  • Late entries will only be permitted up until 10 minutes into each workout block.
  • Everyone must obey 3 metres of physical distancing guidelines when outdoors.
  • Face coverings must be worn while entering & exiting the Outdoor Fitness Area, as well as when leaving your designated workout area.
  • Individuals may choose to wear face coverings while working out.
  • Everyone is expected to wipe all equipment after each use.

Outdoor Programming Inclement Weather Policy:

  • The Outdoor Fitness Area including Outdoor NRG Classes, Drop-in, & Group Training Sessions may be cancelled, postponed or rescheduled due to weather, facility emergencies or unforeseen conflicts.
  • During inclement weather, only the fitness staff member present on site can cancel outdoor fitness programming.
  • Do not assume your time or class will be cancelled, as the weather is very unpredictable.
  • Registered Group Training Sessions that are cancelled will be made up on Friday at a time that may not be consistent with the original program.
  • LIGHTNING POLICY: If thunder is heard within 30 seconds of seeing lightning, programming will be cancelled.
  • RAIN POLICY: If only light drizzle, programming will not be cancelled.  However, significant rainfall would see programming being cancelled.

Indoor NRG Class Protocols

  • Everyone must check-in at Client Services upon arrival.
  • Prior to Aug 3/21 while change rooms are closed, Client Services will provide you with a bin to hold personal belongings.  Walk-up NRG members will be accepted if space permits.
  • Everyone must obey physical distancing guidelines while in the facility and adhered to when waiting to enter a class.
  • Entrances and exits are clearly defined in each studio space.
  • Workout spaces within studios are defined, participants must stay within those spaces.
  • Face coverings must be worn while entering the building and up until the point when the music starts and again upon leaving the class/building.
  • Individuals may choose to wear face coverings while working out.
  • All equipment will be set up prior to each class.
  • All equipment will be left in place at the end of each class to be adequately cleaned/disinfected.  

Equipment Rental

A selection of equipment may be available (depending on current protocols) for loan to U of G Students/Athletics Members during Recreation times. Fees may apply for some items, visit Equipment Lending for details.

Facility Guidelines

Athletics is committed to providing a safe, inviting recreation experience for the University of Guelph community. Please assist us by adhering to the following guidelines:

  1. Individuals must be 12 years or older to participate in NRG Classes and 16 years or older to use the Fitness Centre.
  2. Persons 15 years of age and under participating in Recreation activities must be accompanied by a paying parent or guardian at all times.
  3. Athletic clothing appropriate to the activity must be worn.
  4. Clean athletic footwear with non-marking soles must be worn on all surfaces.
  5. Programming space is to be shared appropriately with all participants.
  6. Food or glass bottles are not permitted in the gymnasiums or program rooms.
  7. Inappropriate behavior such as swearing, physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated and may result in loss of building access privileges and/or immediate removal from facility.
  8. All programming ends 30 minutes prior to the building closing. All equipment must be returned at this time.
  9. Change rooms will be inspected by a Client Services Representative upon building closure.
  10. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in removal from facility and/or loss of access privileges.
