Gryphon Girls Half Day Hockey Camp | Ages U11 - U13

Gryphon Camps offer a variety of camps that are categorized into Activity Camps or Sport Camps. Girls Hockey sits within Sport Camps umbrella.  

Minimum Age: Campers must be no younger than the minimum age or be turning that age by the upcoming September 1st. 

Maximum Age: Campers must be no older than the maximum age by the end of the calendar year (December 31st).  


 

Our Girls Hockey Camp will have 2 staff and 20 players (a ratio of 1:10)

Individual Focus

Players will be challenged no matter what their skill level as groups are determined by age and playing abilities.

Elite Coaching

Facilitated on-ice by the Rachel Flanagan, Women's Hockey Head Coach and Katie Mora, Women's Hockey Associate Coach.  During Rachel's time as head coach, Coach Flanagan has taken the Gryphon women's hockey program to new heights, securing the school's first-ever national title in 2018-19 while capturing a total of three OUA titles (2018-19, 2016-17, & 2015-16).   Since Katie joined in 2016-17 season, she has been part of the coaching staff for 2 OUA Championships and 1 USports National Championship.

Girls Hockey Half Day Camp | U11 (2014/2015), U13 (2012/2013)

This half-day program is designed for individuals that identify as female players looking to work on their full game skill toolkit.  Through on-ice and off-ice programming, we will be preparing athletes to compete at the next level.

  • Players will learn individual skills to improve the condition of the puck
  • Learn how to influence the play using evasive and controlled movements
  • On-ice component coupled with off-ice training to improve strength, stability & speed
  • Enhance overall development
  • There will be no goalie-specific instruction

 

We have included the hockey-specific camps in our summer offerings that most suit the wide range of interest and ability of our campers. Our Men's & Women's Varsity coaches will be offering half-day training clinics for specific ages and skills. These will be offered the weeks of August 12th & August 19th.

Meet the Coach

 

Katie Mora Interim Head Coach, University of Guelph Women's Hockey 

  • Katie has been Associate Coach with the Guelph Gryphons Women's Hockey Team since the 2016-17 season
  • During this time, she has been part of the coaching staff for 2 OUA Championships and 1 USports National Championship
  • Katie is a Guelph native and a proud alumna of the University of Guelph, graduating with a degree in Human Kinetics
  • Katie played five years with the Gryphons (2010-2015), earning two OUA silver medals in 2011 and 2015
  • In her final season, Katie was named team captain and went on to with the University of Guelph Sportswoman of the Year Award
  • Katie has acquired her NCCP High Performance 1 certification and also works as the lead on-ice skill development coach with our Guelph Girls Hockey Association
