Field/Outdoor Sports

All visitors over the age of 12 must be vaccinated against COVID-19 to access the University of Guelph campus. Visitors should attest to their vaccination status through the U of G's COVID-19 Daily Screening Tool. Not currently available for Fall 2021. Beach Volleyball takes place on the Beach Volleyball courts.

Walking Track COVID-19 Protocols 

The walking track is a facility which offers a full indoor track at the University of Guelph Field House. This allows members to take advantage of bad weather conditions. 

  • Pre-Booking/Reserving your time slot is NO LONGER REQUIRED (other than Rec Swims)
  • Everyone is required to complete the U of G COVID-19 Screening Form prior to every visit using the QR code or by visiting > uoguel.ph/COVID19screening or access to the facility will be denied 
  • If you experience any symptoms on the screening form or do not feel well, please stay home 
  • Everyone must obey physical distancing guidelines while in the facility 
  • Face masks must be worn while in the facility.  Bandanas and scarves are not acceptable face coverings
  • Face masks may only be removed during physical activity

  • Lost or broken balls are charged at replacement cost (approximately $35) 

Ultimate Frisbee – currently NOT available 

Ultimate is a great sport for recreational play.  
Frisbees available for lending at the Field House information desk. 

Beach Volleyball – currently NOT available 

Nets, lines, and volleyballs are available for use.  
Lost or broken equipment is changed at replacement cost (approx. $30 ball, $150 net, $50 lines). 

Baseball – currently NOT available 

Bats are available for sign out at Client Services. Lost or broken bats are changed at replacement cost. 

Facility Guidelines

Athletics is committed to providing a safe, inviting recreation experience for the University of Guelph community. Please assist us by adhering to the following guidelines.

  1. Individuals must be 12 years or older to participate in NRG Classes and 16 years or older to use the Fitness Centre.
  2. Persons 15 years of age and under participating in Recreation activities must be accompanied by a paying parent or guardian at all times.
  3. Athletic clothing appropriate to the activity must be worn.
  4. Clean athletic footwear with non-marking soles must be worn on all surfaces.
  5. Programming space is to be shared appropriately with all participants.
  6. Food or glass bottles are not permitted in the gymnasiums or program rooms.
  7. Inappropriate behavior such as swearing, physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated and may result in loss of building access privileges and/or immediate removal from facility.
  8. All programming ends 30 minutes prior to the building closing. All equipment must be returned at this time.
  9. Change rooms will be inspected by a Client Services Representative upon building closure.
  10. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in removal from facility and/or loss of access privileges.
