G.R.O.W.T.H. PROGRAM | Ages 11-13

Gryphon Camps offers a variety of camps that are categorized into Activity Camps or Sport Camps. G.R.O.W.T.H. stands for 'Girls Respecting Others with Teamwork' and sits within the Activity Camps umbrella.

New Minimum/Maximum Age Requirements

Each camp has a minimum and maximum age requirement to ensure campers are grouped with others within the same age range.  If you have questions or concerns about age requirements, please contact the Gryphon Camps Office at camps@uoguelph.ca or 519-824-4120 Ext. 56131.

  • Minimum Age: Campers must be no younger than the minimum age or be turning that age by the upcoming September 1st. 
  • Maximum Age: Campers must be no older than the maximum age by the end of the calendar year (December 31st).  

G.R.O.W.T.H. Program has 2 staff with 20 campers (ratio of 1:10).

With an emphasis on team building and leadership skills, individuals will have the opportunity to challenge themselves.

Personally designed G.R.O.W.T.H. booklets will provide the opportunity to reflect on the day's themed events & workshops.  

Skill Sharing

Participants are encouraged to share their talents and skills with the others in the group. 

Outdoor Activities

Team building & leadership opportunities will guide exploration of who they are as an individual, but also, who they are in a team.

G.R.O.W.T.H. - Girls Respecting Others with Teamwork & Heart | Ages 11-13

G.R.O.W.T.H. Camp program stands for 'Girls Respecting Others with Teamwork & Heart'.  Individuals that identify as female will be introduced to strategies for overcoming some of the challenges they may face during these unique ages.   Team building & leadership opportunities will guide exploration of who they are as an individual, but also, who they are in a team.  G.R.O.W.T.H. will provide 'tools' to help tackle issues they may experience in school or in their personal life through cooperative activities and Guest Speakers.

Campers will participate in outcome based experiential activities to develop & strengthen self-esteem, explore self-expression, create a sense of community and recognize their own personal growth through daily reflections in their personally designed G.R.O.W.T.H. booklet.

G.R.O.W.T.H. will have recreational swimming three times a week.

G.R.O.W.T.H. Program - July 29-Aug 2/24

‘Girls Respecting Others With Teamwork & Heart’. This program introduces campers, who identify as female, to strategies for overcoming challenges they may face during these unique ages and explore who they are as individuals. Participants will have the opportunity to develop and strengthen positive self-esteem, self-expression, challenge themselves, acquire skills, develop a healthy & active lifestyle, and create a sense of community. Campers will have recreational swimming opportunities three times throughout the week In addition to the G.R.O.W.T.H. camp specific programming, campers will participate in general activities that connect to our weekly camp theme. Theme: Gryphon Olympics This week is the kickoff to the Summer Olympics in Paris, France. So, we’re going to have our own Gryphon Olympics These will not be your usual Olympic sports, as we’ll be putting our Gryphon “twist” on our events!

This program introduces campers, who identify as female, to strategies for overcoming challenges they may face during these unique ages and explore who they are as individuals. Participants will have the opportunity to develop and strengthen positive self-esteem, self-expression, challenge themselves, acquire skills, develop a healthy & active lifestyle, and create a sense of community. Campers will have recreational swimming opportunities three times throughout the week. This week includes a visit to the Honey Bee Research Centre at the University of Guelph In addition to the G.R.O.W.T.H. camp specific programming, campers will participate in general activities that connect to our weekly camp theme. Theme: Animal Planet Animals can be amazing and this week campers will have fun being animals, zookeepers or imagining that they work for a wildlife magazine or tv show. It will be adventure after adventure as we explore animals from around the world!
