Field House Walking Track is a facility which offers a full indoor track at the University of Guelph Field House. This allows members to take advantage of bad weather conditions.
Enforced Booking Policies
- All time slots must be reserved in advance for the purpose of contact tracing.
- Bookings can only be made for yourself – booking for others is NOT Permitted.
- Max one (1) time slot per day for Rec Swims, NRG Fitness classes, Fitness Centre.
- No back to back bookings permitted in the same building.
- Bookings available to reserve 7 days in advance, on the hour (means you don’t have to wake up at midnight to make your booking).
- Time slots will be available to reserve up until 1 hour before the desired start time.
- All members must have a booking to access our building and/or any of our spaces.
- Clients should cancel reservations on their own and can do so without penalty up to 1 hour before the booked time.
- Reservations can be managed through the app, your email confirmation or by calling Client Services (519 824 4120 Ext. 56253).
- Non-members will be denied access to reserved time slots.
- All Clients must check in when they arrive prior to any booking.
- Clients who register for a time and continuously do not show will have their memberships temporarily suspended.
General Recreation Protocols
- Everyone is required to complete the U of G COVID-19 Screening Form prior to every visit using the QR code or by visiting > uoguel.ph/COVID19screening or access to the facility will be denied
- If you experience any symptoms on the screening form or do not feel well, please stay home
- Everyone must check-in at the Field House information desk upon arrival (not necessary for outdoor sports)
- While change rooms are closed, Field House Attendants will provide you with a bin to hold personal belongings
- Everyone must obey physical distancing guidelines while in the facility
- Face coverings must be worn while in the facility
- Face coverings may only be removed during physical activity, but must be worn by players on the bench
Soccer Protocols
- Must have an individual booking to play
- Bookings are for 1 hour, please do not arrive early and leave immediately after your booking
- Two players per net at a time
- No games allowed to be played. Time is strictly for skill-building (shooting, dribbling, and passing only)
- Players are reminded to be physically distanced when possible
- Masks must be worn when not actively participating in activity
- Soccer balls available for lending at the Field House information desk
- Lost or broken balls are charged at replacement cost (approximately $35)
UPDATES
Ultimate Frisbee – currently NOT available
Ultimate is a great sport for recreational play.
Frisbees available for lending at the Field House information desk.
Beach Volleyball – currently NOT available
Nets, lines, and volleyballs are available for use.
Lost or broken equipment is changed at replacement cost (approx. $30 ball, $150 net, $50 lines).
Baseball – currently NOT available
Bats are available for sign out at Client Services. Lost or broken bats are changed at replacement cost.
Equipment Rental
A selection of equipment is available for loan to U of G Students/Athletics Members during Recreation times. Fees may apply for some items, visit Equipment Lending for details.
You are an Athletics Member if you are a registered full or part-time undergraduate or a full-time graduate student of the University of Guelph (Athletics Base Membership paid within your academic fees) or have purchased an Athletics Base Membership.
Facility Guidelines
Athletics is committed to providing a safe, inviting recreation experience for the University of Guelph community. Please assist us by adhering to the following guidelines.
- Individuals must be 12 years or older to participate in NRG Classes and 16 years or older to use the Fitness Centre.
- Persons 15 years of age and under participating in Recreation activities must be accompanied by a paying parent or guardian at all times.
- Athletic clothing appropriate to the activity must be worn.
- Clean athletic footwear with non-marking soles must be worn on all surfaces.
- Programming space is to be shared appropriately with all participants.
- Food or glass bottles are not permitted in the gymnasiums or program rooms.
- Inappropriate behavior such as swearing, physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated and may result in loss of building access privileges and/or immediate removal from facility.
- All programming ends 30 minutes prior to the building closing. All equipment must be returned at this time.
- Change rooms will be inspected by a Client Services Representative upon building closure.
- Failure to follow these guidelines may result in removal from facility and/or loss of access privileges.
