Description

Underwater hockey was first invented by divers in the 1950s. It is a non-contact sport in which two teams compete in a pool to maneuver a puck across the bottom and into the opposing team’s 3 meter long net. It is played with snorkeling gear and a short stick; different from a regular hockey stick. Our team travels all over Ontario, Quebec, & the USA to attend tournaments, and several of our players have gone as far as Spain and South Africa to play for Team Canada at the world tournament. We are also proud to have hosted an annual international Underwater Hockey tournament for over the past 30 years. We play pickup style hockey and most members play at a beginner or intermediate level. If you’re tired of swimming laps, this sport is for you! New players are always welcomed and encouraged to come give the sport a try. Your first time out is always free. Underwater hockey is a great way to try a new sport, meet interesting people and have an amazing anaerobic workout!
