Member Update - Dec. 14th, 2021 (QR Proof of Vaccination)

On December 10, 2021 the Province of Ontario made the following announcements that will affect the operations of our facilities and point of entry to our facilities.

  • Effective January 4, 2022, the use of the enhanced vaccine certificate with QR code is required as proof of vaccination. The QR code can be used digitally or by printing a paper copy.
    • A government-issued ID with name and date of birth is required.
  • Medical exemptions and clinical trial exemptions are required to verify using a certificate with QR code. As of Monday, January 10, 2022, physician notes are no longer accepted.
  • Effective December 20, 2021, proof of vaccination is required for youth aged 12 to 17 years participating in organized sports at recreational facilities.

Members must be prepared with the following, every time you access our facilities:

  1. Completed U of G Screening Form and be prepared to show your green checkmark.
  2. Everyone ages 12 and older, must show proof of vaccination and a government-issued ID.

Vaccine notes will not be kept on accounts; you must scan every time.

  1. Swipe your membership card at the swipe station at the entrance of the facility or program you are accessing. You must swipe at each facility before proceeding to your activity.

See above bullet points for important dates

There will be no point of entry without these items. Not being aware of these changes or not having these items on their person will not be acceptable and individuals will be denied entry.

Please continue to follow all masking and public health protocols.

Thank you for your continued patience and adherence to public health protocols as we continue to navigate this pandemic.

Sincerely,

Department of Athletics
