SHINE Week Winter 2021

Gryphon Athletics partners with Student Wellness for SHINE Week March 14-20th, 2021

We believe that physical fitness is an essential part of mental health and overall wellbeing, which is why we’re providing ways to keep you moving both on-line and in-person!  

IN-PERSON: Free Campus Rec for UofG Students 

Try a different activity in-person each day including skating, basketball, indoor soccer, indoor walking/jogging track, badminton & length swimming. In some cases, each sport has multiple time options and sometimes it’s just the one in the day. Spaces will fill quickly, and pre-booking is required at gryphons.ca/reservations.

Fire and Ice Yoga IG Fitness Class: 45-minutes with Kirstie 

The class incorporates a deep stretch with a physical workout for the perfect blend of effort & ease. Start the practice with a fiery Hatha/Flow style sequence, then make use of the internal heat cultivated in the body to help you find depth in Yin postures and relaxation in restorative postures. This is a pre-recorded class on IGTV which you can access anytime. 

Hardcore/Rock Bottom IG Fitness Class: 45-minutes with Siobhan 

This class is devoted to toning and strengthening the core & lower body…from your neck to your toes! This is a pre-recorded class on IGTV which you can access anytime. 

Cardio Tabata IG Fitness Class: 45-minutes with Lynne 

This intense metabolic workout combines intervals of cardio training following the Tabata protocol (20 sec. of work and 10 sec. of rest) and strength exercises. This is a pre-recorded class on IGTV which you can access anytime. No equipment required.  

Body Blast IG Fitness Class: 45-minutes with Sophie 

Conquer hump day with this blend of intense cardio conditioning and resistance training intervals! This is a pre-recorded class on IGTV which you can access anytime. No equipment.  

Functional Flexibility Yoga IG Fitness Class 

Develop functional flexibility that will allow you to lift more and run further, while increasing mental awareness and focus. This is a pre-recorded class on IGTV which you can access anytime. This class requires no equipment. 

Tabata HIIT IG Fitness Class with Sheri-Lynn 

This intense metabolic workout combines intervals of cardio training following the Tabata protocol (20 sec. of work and 10 sec. of rest) and strength exercises. This is a pre-recorded class on IGTV which you can access anytime. No equipment required.  

Cardio Kickbox IG Fitness Class with Lynne 

Punch & kick your way through this empowering, results driven workout. This is a pre-recorded class on IGTV which you can access anytime. No equipment required
