Congratulations to Brooklyn Davidson – Gryphon Summer Camps – Program Director
Brooklyn has been working at Gryphon Camps for the past two summers as a camp counselor and now in her third year, she has taken the role of Program Director. Brooklyn has been a tremendous asset to our Program Director with her creativity and desire to create a camp program that is inclusive and fun for everyone. Brooklyn has been able to share past experiences with the team and facilitate group meetings to ensure that we are meeting budget requirements for purchasing and ensuring that equipment is used in multiple ways. Brooklyn has an excitement for camp that is contagious to all campers and staff. She ensures that the staff are prepared to deliver their programs by having schedules and outlines prepared well in advance along with keeping an open line of communication with everyone. You can always count on Brooklyn to be there ready to assist in any manner. This has been evident this year, as she not only has checked in on her team to see how they are doing but goes out of her way to check in and show support to the Sport Camp Counsellors too.
This year Brooklyn has worked tirelessly to ensure that every camper is connected to camp. This includes creating a birthday button for campers to wear on their birthday, working as a team with other directors to create exciting fun Friday activities, supporting campers that need direct one-to-one support throughout the day, and supports staff with their personal growth through thoughtful weekly feedback and delivering tips to the individual staff by using their previous experience and then role modelling these expectations.
Brooklyn has really been a great support to everyone on the team this summer and really has shown what “I am A Gryphon” represents through her lead by example attitude and supporting everyone.
