A small explosion at the Gryphon Centre Arena occurred this morning (Sept. 10) and no one was injured. People, including U of G staff, are being asked to stay away from the area at this time. Campus Community Police, Guelph Police and the Guelph Fire Department are on the scene and investigating the cause. Please avoid the parking near the arena.
The arena is closed, but operations in the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre (GGAC) are unaffected. The GGAC remains open for pre-booked time-slots for Fitness Centre use, walking track, and rec basketball. Please remember to complete your Covid-19 screening form before you come to campus.
