March 2022 Gryphon Greatness

This month's winner is Anthony Cuzen from the facilities team. Anthony eagerly joined ARC and has spent lots of personal time planning and gathering prizes for the banquet. This was not something he was required to do, rather, he wanted to ensure there were lots of prizes available to support and congratulate his peers. He has gone out of his way to reach out to FT staff who could potentially offer Gryphon-themed prizes.

We got back to some semblance of normal when we hosted the Relay for Life (March 12th)- Anthony was a huge part in ensuring this event was a success for the Relay team.  Feet on the ground, engaging with all the guests, Anthony always did walkthroughs, checked in with event coordinators, lead the group of volunteers during teardown to ensure it was ready to go and safe for the morning rentals (done very efficiently considering he had never met any of the 40+ volunteers before, and never really tore down a large fieldhouse event before).  To help build links with the broader Guelph community, Anthony organized a donation drop- off to Wyndham house.  He gathered, laundered, and packed all of the lost and found which had gone unclaimed from the fieldhouse and emailed different local organizations who might have benefited from receiving donations. Wyndham replied and he coordinated having all items dropped off to them for their second life.  As if there wasn't already enough on the go, it is the time of year where we begin to open the fields for the spring.  Anthony has been invaluable the last two weeks, grooming and completing chores in less-than-ideal weather.  Finally, Anthony has picked up several shifts for staff and has stayed late on many occasions to get the job done.  Anthony has been truly great during the month of March
