Closures and Cancellations:
During the month of November, part time employees from the Department of Athletics held a toy and gift drive. The donations were collected by staff to be donated to The Children's Foundation annual Adopt-A-Family program. Each year, the Children's Foundation works with agencies in the Guelph-Wellington region to ensure families in need are able to have a happy holiday season. Last year, the Children's Foundation was able to match over 1,430 families with donors to ensure special gifts and necessities were shared where most needed.
For the 2021 season, the Children's Foundation Adopt-A-Family program had an open request for donations for their workshop to help supplement family donation packages. Our Athletics Centre staff stepped up and collected an amazing selection of toys and gifts. In total, they collected approximately 157 gift that included; hats, gloves, toys, games, craft supplies and personal care items.
Thank you so much to all of our part time employees who participated in this year's toy drive. A special thank you to our Field House and Fields staff who collected the greatest number of items as a team! Your generosity has made a huge difference in our community.
