Masking requirements extend past May 1st at the University of Guelph
April 19, 2022 – Based on the increasing number of cases in the province and to curb the spread of COVID-19, the University of Guelph will keep its mask requirement in place beyond May 1st. Masks will continue to be required indoors in all U of G managed facilities until further notice. This includes the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre, Gryphon Field House, Gryphon Centre Arena, and the Football Pavilion.
All members and visitors are required to wear a face mask at all times while in any Department of Athletics building. This includes in changerooms and dressing rooms. Masks may only be removed when physical activity starts or you arrive at your activity location and must be put back on as soon as the activity ends or when you are exiting your activity location. For details about what this means in specific areas of our facility, view details here.
All members and visitors are expected to arrive on campus prepared with their own mask. Facility points of entry may not be able to provide you with a mask. Masks can be purchased at the campus bookstore or at Gryph’s Locker.
Proof of vaccination and daily screening after May 1
As announced in March, U of G’s COVID-19 vaccination policy and daily screening requirements will be paused as of May 1. The University may reinstate these requirements at any time and with little notice.
We appreciate your continued patience and understanding during these challenging and ever-changing times. We take the health and safety measures of all our users seriously and the COVID-19 vaccine plays an important role in helping protect our community and bringing the pandemic to an end. Thank you for keeping our community safe.
